It presents various means of resolving conflict, with particular emphasis on the use of competitive and collaborative negotiations. The wider ‘Information, Decisions and Operations’ academic faculty bring a wide range of research and teaching knowledge and expertise to underpin the theories, models and tools that are examined in this module.

Successful branding adds customer value and can provide protection from price competition and pressures towards commoditisation. This course differs from the approach taken in many textbooks in that it takes a socio-cultural approach which draws on contemporary cultural studies, anthropology and social theory rather than relying on just the cognitive, information-processing approach.
Topics to be covered comprise the cognitive and emotional foundations of brands; the symbolic meaning of brands; cultural meaning systems; symbolic brand strategy; low-involvement brand strategy, corporate reputation, brand equity.
