Background

Aims and Objectives
This was a Problem Class to (potentially) 70 students – 43 turned up. Being honest, the main aim as far as I was concerned was trying out the concept. The DoS (Alan Hayes) was also concerned to increase ‘feedback’.

What took place: we ran through a set of slides (at http://staff.bath.ac.uk/masjhd/CM30078-week5.ppt), and they clicked as appropriate.

Technology
Supported the ‘multiple-choice’ format, which was all that happened in the class.

Outcomes

What happened
It basically worked (good). I was amazed at how many got the first substantive question wrong – fortunately I had a note on the slide with exactly what to read if you got it wrong.

How did they find it
see last slide and Andy Ramsden’s separate questionnaire. Basically VERY popular.

Tips for others
At least for me, it was very theatrical. Fortunately, that doesn’t worry me, but I found myself ‘hamming it up’ more than I had expected.
