The breakfast happened on a windy and foggy day at Bath, but the cosy vibes inside of the Lime Tree for the networking event of Mott MacDonald are undeniable.
By a very creative way of approaching, Mott MacDonald gave out information by putting staff among students, all sitting around the table for a nice breakfast meal while talking about opportunities to work at “Mott” and the experience of working in the engineering sector.
Although people might think that Mott is specific on engineering and infrastructure design, they are one family, open to any new idea and have flexibility; with a job rotation happening every six months in order to give the graduate scheme students a chance to try new thing and meet new people.
On my table, we have different students with different aims, and a staff member from Mott, Serena, who was dynamic and energetic, full of ideas and inspiration about the job, with three years of experiences at Mott. The networking was not only about giving out information, but also a chance to share experiences, give close-up views about the ups and downs at Mott, the differences of studying and working, of working as a graduate scheme student versus a full capability employee at Mott. We also heard about the shared experiences of students who have chosen Mott in placement year.
Mott MacDonald is opening their networks by having more and more opportunities for students in different subjects, for engineering students but also business ones by providing management consultancy, project management, and quantity surveying career opportunities.
