We're pleased to announce that macOS Sierra has now been approved for installation on university-owned Macs.
If you have 'Self Service' on your Mac then you can upgrade by clicking 'Install' from within the 'Self Service' application—we've featured the download, so it will be on the front page from within 'Self Service'. It's always a good idea to ensure that you have all essential files backed-up to network or external storage prior to an OS upgrade, so please bear this in mind before taking the plunge.
If you rely on MATLAB for your work then you may wish to hold off on upgrading for the time being, as the version that is approved for use with macOS Sierra (MATLAB R2016b) is not yet available for download through 'Self Service'. It will be available for download soon and once it is, we will post this news on the blog.
For the rest of you, enjoy macOS Sierra and if you have any questions then please don't hesitate to get in touch.
