Restart your Windows 7 PC to receive important updates

Posted in: Computing Services

A majority of our PCs have been moved over to the Windows 10 Operating System. However, there are still a number of PCs across the organisation that are running Windows 7.

If you have a PC that is running the Windows 7 Operating System, you will need to restart your PC by the end of Tuesday 21 May 2019 in order to receive critical security updates for Remote Desktop software. Please restart before this deadline otherwise your PC will do this automatically which may mean you lose any work you have been carrying out at the time of the restart.

If you are unsure of which version of Windows your computer is running, visit the Microsoft website for guidance on how to find out.

Thanks for your cooperation.

    • Hi Alison,

That's really good and is best practice. However, not everyone does this and this is a notification to let them know to restart their PC to receive these updates.

      Regards
