I'm never keen on these sort of focused days, and certainly when part of every school day ought surely to be spent outdoors – a point omitted from the English government's proposed new primary school science curriculum – though there are a dozen references to schools needing to ensure that "pupils use the local environment throughout the year ... " . Not quite the same thing.
