A while back, I submitted written evidence to the House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee's enquiry into measuring well-being and sustainable development, that focused on the thorny issue of sustainable development indicators. The committee's report has just been issued.
What a damp squib. Whilst it was nice to see my evidence in print (actually, it was only in Volume 2, as a pdf), there's little noteworthy in the report as a whole. In fact, I found the other evidence more useful than the committee's deliberations. And as for Defra, I rather think they've given up on the indicator business.
