Slipping into Schengen

When we arrived in Germany to be with Mrs M the plane decanted us at a Schengen gate and so we were able to enter the country without a passport check – the first time since the EU opened its internal borders to the willing (before it closed many of them again).  So, I'm here sort of illegally, and I'm wondering what will happen on the way out.

I expect Mrs M knows all about this but she's busy this morning dealing with sudden French opposition to the Nord Stream II gas pipeline from Russia.  Mr M  has now understood what the rest of us saw immediately, that this it's unwise to put a lot of the EU energy eggs into Putin's basket.

It will blow another hole in Germany's energy security, of course, but there's plenty of dirty brown coal ...
