Training opportunity from WEAHSN

Posted in: HealthResSW

As part of the Evidence Based Commissioning initiative, the West of England Academic Health Science Network would like to offer Commissioning member organisations a day’s training delivered by Government Knowledge and the University of Chester, and designed to help people to improve their understanding of evidence and how to make the best use of it.

The course aims to equip people with techniques and skills to work more effectively with professional analysts; to identify what evidence is needed to develop a policy proposal; where the gaps are and how to fill them.  It will also help people to present a proposal more effectively to different audiences.

WEAHSN will cover the course fee (395 + VAT) for one staff member from each organisation.  In return, the WEAHSN would require a short summary of the day including the key take home message, which could then be shared across the AHSN.  Only one summary would be required, representing the combined efforts of all those supported by the AHSN.

The course will take place at a venue to be confirmed on 14 November and full information can be found here:  http://govknow.com/training-event.html?id=511
