Maintenance and upgrades will be taking place during our at risk* period, Tuesday 1 November 2016, 7am to 9am.

  • Our self-service IT Help portal, TOPdesk, will be unavailable.
  • Due to a database upgrade Business Objects and SID will be unavailable.

*Our 'at risk' period is between 7am and 9am on Tuesdays when we carry out scheduled maintenance, modifications and testing. This work is essential to maintain and develop the services that we provide.

SAMIS and Business Objects issues resolved

Update 10:12am: Issues have now been resolved and we are continuing to investigate why this outage happened.

There appears to be an issue with SAMIS and Business Objects this morning.

We are investigating and we will update you as soon as we know more.

Business Objects users: Deski and Boxi will retire, 31 July 2016.

📥  Business Objects

Deski (Release 3 Business Objects or BOXI) will not be available after 31 July 2016.  From 1 August onwards you will need to run reports in Webi Release 4.  It will not be possible to open old release 3 Deski/BOXI reports after 31 July.

Actions you need to take before 31 July:

  • If you have reports that you are keeping for historic purposes you should save these as Excel or PDF documents in one of your network folders.
  • Check your converted reports once conversion is completed.  If you have saved reports for conversion but have not heard from us at all please email  it-webi@bath.ac.uk.
  • Please make sure that you can login into Webi and are comfortable with using the new environment before 31 July. You can get help or register for a training course, on the Business Objects training page.

Maintenance and upgrades will be taking place during our at risk* period, Tuesday 12 July 2016.

SAMIS upgrade

Work on SAMIS upgrade begins at 6pm, Tues 12 July.  SAMIS will be unavailable Wed and Thurs, and SAMIS on the web will be unavailable for 3 days, Wed to Friday, 13 to 15 July.

IT maintenance, Tues 9 Feb, 7am to 9am

📥  IT maintenance, Tuesday mornings

Maintenance and upgrades will be taking place, during our at risk* period Tuesday 9 February 2016, 7am to 9am.

  • Business Objects will be unavailable, 7am to 9am.
  • Managed Print (MPS) will be unavailable due to maintenance.
  • 1 South - there will be disruption to IT services (eg. Wi-Fi, desktop, file storage) because users will lose connection to the network intermittently before 9am.
