The LITEbox Team is pleased to announce the availability of funding for technology-related projects, open to all students and staff. Santander have teamed up with LITEbox and the University for the first time to offer a total of £30,000 across two years for innovative and inclusive ideas to facilitate progression in teaching and learning. By providing funding and visibility, the LITEbox team wishes to encourage staff-student collaboration to support change across teaching and learning to enhance the student experience.
While the project will be judged on a case-by-case basis, projects submitted under the following categories are more likely to be successful.
How does this fund differ from other funding sources?
There are very few funds that allow the purchases of equipments such as iPads or 3D Printers for example. This fund is aiming to provide a different type of support to enable further and deeper exploration of what technology has to offer in enhancing the student experience and bringing teaching and research closer together. It is important to note that successful bids for equipment will be funded on the agreement that the equipment becomes part of the LITEBox Digital Playground following project completion.
Staff-student collaboration, to include students at all levels is a key aim of this fund and, in particular, student-led projects.
To maximise this opportunity, there are rolling deadlines throughout the academic year with three deadlines during the academic calendar, as follows:
Round 1 - 8th December 2017
Round 2 - 28th February 2018
Round 3 - 31st May 2018
Please note that successful applicants will be asked to contribute to the LITEbox community through seminars, blog posts and/or "cafe style" introductory/dissemination events. Santander may also contact the applicant for personal information, and an impact report to understand the outcomes and impact generated from the project will be required.
