Feb 17th: How to extend semester 1 enrolments
Posted by Lisa McIver in Support February 17th, 2012Colleagues may know that Moodle uses period slot codes as the trigger to enrol and remove users. As a general rule however, the e-Learning Team extends the official start and end dates by several weeks in order to provide a buffer to these enrolments.
According to SAMIS, semester 1 officially ended on 27th January. With the addition of the unenrolment ‘buffer’ however, Moodle retained the users until today (17 Feb). As this is the case, all semester 1 enrolments have now been removed (alongside the data associated with them, such as assignments etc).
In the event that you would like to keep this data in your course for longer, you may wish to reinstate the mapping with the SAMIS. In doing so, students will return to the course – as will their assignment submissions and Turnitin reports.
Guidance on extending the period slot code can be found in the Moodle FAQs at: http://moodle.bath.ac.uk/faq/content/35/276/en/how-do-i-extend-a-cohort-mapping.html
Should you have any questions, please contact the e-Learning Team who will be happy to assist.
