Omnibus Conversation Thursday 3rd March 1.15pm

📥  Omnibus Conversations, Social Events

The OMNIBUS lunchtime conversations offer an opportunity for all staff (academic and nonacademic), doctoral and post doctoral students, and other interested parties to share what they are working on.

The next meeting is on 3rd March 2016, 1:15-2:05 (room to be announced). We usually begin the meetings by going round with each person saying a few words by way of introduction to themselves and what they are working on. For instance, Paul Shepherd (Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering), members of The Public Engagement Unit, Marie Huxtable, (University of Cumbria), and doctoral and postdoctoral students have been invited to the conversation to share what they are doing in contributing to the BRLSI Researchers project.

At this meeting Jack Whitehead, a life-time member of OMNIBUS who is coordinating the OMNIBUS contribution to the University’s 50th Anniversary Celebrations (from October 2016), will draw attention to the creation of living-posters for the celebrations. For illustrative examples of living-posters see:

4 actors, 130 characters in 100 hilarious minutes!

Alfred Hitchcock’s classic spy thriller, The 39 Steps, based on John Buchan's novel, has been brilliantly and hilariously recreated for the stage.

This Olivier and Tony award-winning comedy celebrated a nine-year West End run where it achieved the fifth highest number of performances of any play in West End history. Over three million people have seen the show worldwide.

Follow the incredible adventures of our handsome hero Richard Hannay, complete with stiff upper-lip, British gung-ho and pencil moustache as he encounters dastardly murders, double-crossing secret agents, and, of course, devastatingly beautiful women.

This wonderfully inventive and gripping comedy thriller features four fearless actors, playing 139 roles in 100 minutes of fast-paced fun and thrilling action.
