Overview This project enables the student to print a coversheet from the assignments area in SAMIS on the web. The coversheet will contain pre-populated information from SAMIS, and will include a email QR Code containing the primary key info for the person and assignment. Once they attach the coversheet to their assignment and submit it to the desk, it is scanned, the students get an email receipt, and the submission is recorded in SAMIS. The Faculty admin team will then be able to print of a report of who has submitted, who has extensions and who has submitted late. The assignments will be passed to the academic staff for marking.
Aims and objectives

The broad aims of the project are;

  • reduce the amount of time to administer the physical submission of assignments.

  • ensure all students have a similar experience and receive confirmation of submiting their asignments.

Project methodology The project will be based on a very agile software development approach. There are a number of key date at the end of February and through out March which should ensure a final product by the end of March. After which we will disseminate the findings, continue to monitor use and decide on where to take the software next. The coversheet generation, scanning and re-submission of information will be the responsibiliy of the e-elearning team. Making the information available from SAMIS and the business object reports are the responsibility of the SAMIS team.
