On Monday, 7 December the construction of a new office will begin; when complete, it will be used by the Transport team and Department of Security to enable better provision of services to students, staff and visitors.
A new toilet block will also be built.
The duration of the project will be approximately 14 weeks.
The construction work will result in:
Temporary closure of the current toilet facilities
Alternative toilets can be found in the Lime Tree restaurant and in the Student's Union. Once complete the new toilet facilities will consist of one accessible toilet, one staff and one male and one female cubicle for all.
Removal of the bicycle hoops at the bus terminal
Please remove all bicycles and locks before the 7 December. Alternative bicycle shelters can be found outside the main entrance of the Chancellors' Building, Sports Training Village and in various locations around the Campus.
Temporary relocation of some bus stops
Normal operation of bus services will continue; however, bus stops will be temporarily relocated.
- The U18 and first bus services will continue to stop at bus terminal
- Bus stops for the U10 and X18 services will relocate to the layby adjacent to the bus terminal
- The 20A and 20C bus stops will be relocated to the layby outside the Sports Training Village
- The pick up/drop off point for users of the Sports Training Village will be relocated to the layby opposite the Edge.
- Two of the taxi ranks will be out of action during the project.
