Course Leader Carmen Schembri Wismayer tells us more.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">Congratulations to our students and staff!\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">A total of 20 university students from a variety of disciplines, along with three members of the local community, took the Goethe-Zertifikat exams on campus in early May after completing German language courses during the 2024\/25 academic year. To further support their preparation, participants also attended five tailored exam preparatory workshops alongside their regular classes.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The students\u2019 results were outstanding, and we are thrilled to celebrate their achievements. The Goethe-Zertifikat is more than just a language qualification. Alongside demonstrating language proficiency and cultural understanding, it reflects transferable employability skills such as communicative competence, the ability to work in a team, presentation skills, perseverance, and resilience\u2014qualities highly valued by employers and essential for success in today\u2019s global job market. These skills open doors to international study, research opportunities, and diverse career paths.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Having passed the A2 Goethe Zertifikat last year, completing B1 this year felt like a natural progression. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning German through the Skills Centre for the past three years and the opportunity to get an internationally recognised qualification for my efforts was too good to miss! Carmen and Moira are incredibly supportive; the additional workshops helped me not only prepare for the specifics of the exam but also helped improve all aspects of my German comprehension generally.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Going forward I intend to continue learning German into the final year of my PhD, working towards B2. My motivations for continuing to learn German are completely different to my motivations for starting.
