In September 2020, the University launched a new digital skills self-assessment tool\u00a0to support the development of students'\u00a0digital skills and capabilities<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Our blog Don't get left behind in the digital revolution<\/a> explains what digital skills are, why they\u2019re so important for your studies and your future career, and what the University is doing to help you develop them.<\/p>\n

We've now created a dedicated area on the MySkills website<\/a>\u00a0which provides further links on:<\/p>\n

Assessing your digital skills<\/strong><\/h3>\n

You can use the self-assessment tool to find out which digital skills you already have and which ones you need to develop. After completing the tool, you'll receive a personalised report detailing your current confidence levels in six core areas of digital capability, as defined by the JISC digital capability framework<\/a>. You can use this report to create your own digital skills development plan, using the links to free resources and courses provided.<\/p>\n

Developing your digital skills<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In addition to the resources recommended in the personalised report, we've compiled University of Bath training resources around digital skills, linked to the six defined areas of digital capabilities, which you can link to your digital skills development plan:<\/p>\n

  • Digital creation, problem-solving and innovation (creative production)<\/li>\n

    Your digital campus<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Further guidance on the range of University tools now being used for learning and teaching online (for example Moodle, Zoom, Re:View (Panopto), Mahara, Office 365), how to access IT services on and off campus and links to other sources of support.<\/p>\n
