I will be asking people living with dementia and carers what they think about the augmented reality prompts I have tested in <a href=\"https:\/\/researchportal.bath.ac.uk\/en\/publications\/augmented-reality-and-older-adults-a-comparison-of-prompting-type\">previous studies<\/a>. More information and the link to the survey can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/ar-for-dementia\/2020\/08\/03\/recruiting-now-take-part-in-an-online-survey-exploring-augmented-reality-cues-for-domestic-settings\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Background<\/h2>\n<p>Augmented reality allows digital content to be seen on top of the real world and has the potential to build on previous work exploring how task prompting can be helpful for people living with dementia. For example, augmented reality might be able to help people to complete tasks by showing them a visual cue of how the objects need to be manipulated in order to achieve that task, like moving something from one area to another. Your participation in this study will help us understand user perceptions of the augmented reality prompts we have developed.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Who can take part? <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>I am recruiting <strong>pairs of participants<\/strong> to take part in this interview. You can take part as a <strong>pair <\/strong>if:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>you are both at least 18 years old;<\/li>\n<li>you live together at home;<\/li>\n<li>one person has a diagnosis of Alzheimer\u2019s disease or vascular dementia (or mixed dementia of both) <strong>and<\/strong> the other person is a close family carer providing regular support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participants must be able to express their opinions using spoken English. Anyone taking part must also have access to a stable internet connection and a device or computer with a microphone and camera. This could be an iPad or Android tablet, or a Windows or Apple laptop or computer, for example.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>You cannot take part if:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>you have a visual impairment that means you are unable to easily watch videos online, because the interview involves commenting on the visual aspects of multiple videos.<\/li>\n<li>you have taken part in a study related to this project before.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>What does the study involve?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>You will be invited to join an online video call to discuss the information sheet.\u00a0 If you decide to take part, you will be asked to complete an online questionnaire in your own time before the interview. The main interview will be carried out online. You will be asked to watch a series of videos on your computer screen and to comment on what you see.
