{"id":1672,"date":"2018-12-17T14:26:34","date_gmt":"2018-12-17T14:26:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/computing-services\/?p=1672"},"modified":"2020-03-27T08:43:20","modified_gmt":"2020-03-27T08:43:20","slug":"balena-maintenance-notice-w-c-14th-january-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/arc\/2018\/12\/17\/balena-maintenance-notice-w-c-14th-january-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Balena Maintenance Notice - w\/c 14th January 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Balena HPC service will be offline for <span id=\"0.24727012562629436\" class=\"highlight\">maintenance<\/span> from 14th - 18th of January to complete a few essential tasks.<\/p>\n<p>ClusterVision (our supplier) and the ARC team will be working on the system during this period.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the <span id=\"0.7793761621787373\" class=\"highlight\">maintenance<\/span> tasks that will be taking place are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BeeGFS upgrade<\/li>\n<li>BMC upgrade on some of the Skylake nodes<\/li>\n<li>Fix multi-path failing issues on headnodes<\/li>\n<li>Repair data objects on BeeGFS<\/li>\n<li>Master node failover test<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During this <span id=\"0.5631366280128397\" class=\"highlight\">maintenance<\/span> there will be no access to Balena and workload scheduling will be paused to prevent any jobs from running, this will resume once the system is returned to production.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any concerns please contact <a href=\"mailto:arc-support@bath.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">arc-support@bath.ac.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>--<br \/>\nTeam HPC<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Balena HPC service will be offline for maintenance from 14th - 18th of January to complete a few essential tasks.
