Dear users of HPC facility,<\/p>\n
Following the success of previous meetings, we would like to announce
\nthe University of Bath's 4th HPC Symposium which will take place on
\nThursday 4th June (all day).<\/p>\n
The aim of the symposium is to provide a forum for current (and
\nprospective) users of the University's HPC service, currently Aquila,
\nwith news on acceptance testing for the new resource Balena, as well as
\nproviding an excellent opportunity to network and exchange ideas with
\ncolleagues. Hopefully the experience and the people you meet will help
\nyou with your own research in the future.<\/p>\n
The following activities are planned for the day:<\/p>\n
The meeting will be held in the Chancellor Building, Room CB2.6, further Important dates<\/strong><\/p>\n Registration<\/strong> NB: A separate announcement extending an invitation just to the keynote The following topics will be covered (list not exhaustive)...<\/p>\n Contributed talks are scheduled to be 15 minutes (including questions).<\/p>\n If you plan to present a talk or poster, please submit your abstract in The best abstracts will be selected and a list of talks and posters will the Scientific Organising Committee,<\/p>\n Dr Steven Chapman (Computing Services) <\/p>\n

\nThere is no registration fee, but we need to collect a list of attendees
\nand know numbers in advance to organise catering. If you are interested
\nin attending, please register by Friday 22rd May by completing the
\nregistration form at http:\/\/hpc-symposium-2015.eventbrite.co.uk<\/a> and let
\nus know (hpc-symposium@bath.ac.uk<\/a>) if you have any special dietary
\nrequirements.<\/p>\n
\ntalk will be publicised shortly. If you are already registering for the
\nsymposium there is NO<\/em> need to register for both.
\nTalks and posters
\n<\/strong>Contributions in the form of talks and posters are vital for the success
\nof the symposium and there will be prizes for the best contributions. If
\nyou are currently using the University's HPC facility for your research,
\nwe strongly encourage you to share your experiences with others at the
\nmeeting. You can also present your research if you are not currently
\nusing the HPC facility, but are working on a computationally intensive
\nproblem which might benefit from using HPC.<\/p>\n\n
\nLaTeX or Microsoft Word format and send your .tex source file or the
\nword template in an email to hpc-symposium@bath.ac.uk by the abstract
\nsubmission deadline of Friday 8th May. The LaTeX and Word templates can
\nbe found on the http:\/\/go.bath.ac.uk\/hpc-symposium<\/a> website; please
\nremember to rename the file with your username e.g. abstract_sac44.doc.<\/p>\n
