Stress is often a normal part of everyday life but can at times become overwhelming.<\/p>\n<p>Mind have some fantastic information on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mind.org.uk\/information-support\/types-of-mental-health-problems\/stress\/#.W-FmseRLGUk\">stress<\/a>, what it is and some strategies.<\/p>\n<p>Often we need to take some time out and have a break when we are feeling stressed. Here are some of our\u00a0top ways to take a break:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Call a friend<\/li>\n<li>Go for a coffee<\/li>\n<li>Have a break from your phone and social media<\/li>\n<li>Walk the campus <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/estates\/on-campus\/lunch-time-walks\/lunch-time-walks.html\">boundary walk<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Go for a run<\/li>\n<li>Read a book<\/li>\n<li>Take a bath<\/li>\n<li>Walk some of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationaltrust.org.uk\/bath-skyline\/trails\/bath-skyline-walk\">Bath Skyline walk<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Play some sport. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesubath.com\/sport\/bathactive\/\">Bath Active<\/a> has a free timetable<\/li>\n<li>Cook a healthy meal<\/li>\n<li>Meditate<\/li>\n<li>Do some breathing exercises<\/li>\n<li>Write a blog or diary entry<\/li>\n<li>Do some mindfulness colouring or sketching<\/li>\n<li>Fly a kite<\/li>\n<li>Go to a <a href=\"https:\/\/visitbath.co.uk\/things-to-do\/parks-gardens\/\">park or gardens<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Stretch<\/li>\n<li>Listen to music<\/li>\n<li>Take a nap<\/li>\n<li>Learn something new<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/visitbath.co.uk\/\">Be a tourist in Bath<\/a> or visit somewhere new<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Taking breaks when we are feeling stressed is a really good way of taking care of ourselves, however remember if\u00a0it becomes overwhelming\u00a0and you need any support for stress or any contributing factors <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/professional-services\/student-services\/\">Student Services<\/a> is available to support you. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/guides\/welfare-and-wellbeing-advice\/\">Wellbeing Advisers <\/a>are on duty seven days a week.<\/p>\n<p>Let us know in the comments what you do to 'take a break'<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week is National Stress Awareness Week and is a good opportunity to take some time to think about our wellbeing.
