{"id":54,"date":"2016-11-25T09:44:26","date_gmt":"2016-11-25T09:44:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/biosensor-network\/?p=54"},"modified":"2017-10-13T11:51:57","modified_gmt":"2017-10-13T10:51:57","slug":"john-campbell-new-prize-fellow-in-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/biosensor-network\/2016\/11\/25\/john-campbell-new-prize-fellow-in-health\/","title":{"rendered":"John Campbell - new Prize Fellow in Health"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr John Campbell is a new Prize Fellow in the Department of Health at the University of Bath.<\/p>\n<p>Following a PhD in Immunology at the University of Birmingham, John undertook at 6-year Post-Doc at the University of Birmingham Medical School researching a type of blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma.<\/p>\n<p>In his Post-Doc, John co-invented a series of assays for Multiple Myeloma, including Seralite - a quantitative multiplex lateral flow assay. Seralite is now on sale globally and the University spinout company (Serascience) recently completed a merger with Abingdon Health Ltd (York and Birmingham UK). John has experience of \u2013 and continues to be involved in \u2013 developing, validating and commercialising clinical assays.<\/p>\n<p>The primary focus of John\u2019s Prize Fellowship is to investigate how exercise and other lifestyle factors affect cancer risk as we grow older.
