{"id":73,"date":"2019-12-02T12:48:40","date_gmt":"2019-12-02T12:48:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/biosensor-network\/?p=73"},"modified":"2019-12-02T13:13:51","modified_gmt":"2019-12-02T13:13:51","slug":"c3bio-welcomes-its-first-doctoral-training-initiative-cohort-of-11-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/biosensor-network\/2019\/12\/02\/c3bio-welcomes-its-first-doctoral-training-initiative-cohort-of-11-students\/","title":{"rendered":"C3Bio welcomes its first Doctoral Training Initiative cohort of 11 students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to the generosity of the University of Bath benefactors Mr Roger Whorrod OBE and Mrs\u00a0Sue Whorrod and the support of the Department of Development &amp; Alumni Relations, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/c3bio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Centre for Biosensors, Bioelectronics and Biodevices (C3Bio)<\/a> launched a new doctoral training initiative entitled <em>Grand Challenges in Health Technologies<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The C3Bio Doctoral Training Initiative: <em>Grand Challenges in Health Technologies<\/em> (C3Bio DTI) provides a range of interlinked PhD projects from different disciplines focusing on grand challenges in health technologies. The students benefit from a cohort experience, working closely together with other PhD students from different disciplines. The C3Bio DTI provides a multidisciplinary training environment with an emphasis on end-user engagement and real-life impact of the research.<\/p>\n<p>The C3Bio DTI welcomed its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/corporate-information\/c3bio-doctoral-training-initiative-phd-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first cohort of 11 students<\/a> in October 2019, with two Roger &amp; Sue Whorrod PhD Studentships, funding from Abbott Diabetes Care, and aligning studentships from different sources to the DTI.
