International Women's Day is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women, while also raising awareness about the gaps that remain, and the steps that should to be taken to ensure true equality. <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>This year the theme is #BreakTheBias<\/a>, and calls for people to imagine a gender equal world that is free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination; that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive; and a\u00a0world where difference is valued and celebrated.<\/p>\n

To mark the occasion, Bath's School of Management<\/a> shared insights from research that explores issues related to women, equality and bias.<\/p>\n

The organiser Orietta Marsili<\/a> said:<\/p>\n

\"International Women's Day is an opportunity to take stock of where we are in terms of gender equality, and recognise what more needs to be done. This year's theme was particularly important as it helps us recognise our own biases, and address the problematic behaviour that we help perpetuate. We're socialised to deal in stereotypes and discrimate, even though we may not intend to, and this research helps us to recognise the ways in which we contribute to this. It also helps us to think about how, as a School of Management, we can bring about social change and create a more equitable society\"<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
