Watch our video to find out what they do to make the University campus and our accommodation as safe as possible:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Security services at the University of Bath\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/438141811?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Last year, our Security team also safely transported over 400 students to and from COVID-19 test centres.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Socialising as a household<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Due to government guidance on COVID-19, each house or flat is currently treated as one household. Although this means you can\u2019t socialise with students from other accommodation, there has still been an extensive\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesubath.com\/whats-on\/\">programme of events<\/a> to enjoy, a great way to explore campus and the city.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Food and drink<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We have a wide range of places to eat on campus. Due to COVID-19 government guidance, some of these are temporarily closed, but\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/preview.bath.ac.uk\/campaigns\/where-to-eat-on-campus\/\">some are still open<\/a>\u00a0serving takeaway food and drink. Although indoor seating areas aren\u2019t open, there\u2019s various locations where you can sit outside. There\u2019s also a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/preview.bath.ac.uk\/locations\/fresh\/\">small supermarket<\/a>\u00a0on campus, selling groceries, household good and food to go.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Self isolating<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/topics\/self-isolating-in-university-accommodation\/\">provide support<\/a> to anyone that develops COVID-19 symptoms and needs to isolate. This includes everything from delivering food and doing your laundry, to loans of gym equipment and board games to help you keep entertained. Watch our video about how we\u2019ve been supported students in isolation:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"ahs support for isolating students\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/516145785?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>What else we did in 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We supported overseas students that needed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/guides\/staying-in-quarantine-in-student-accommodation\/\">quarantine<\/a>, by providing accommodation and food deliveries.<\/li>\n<li>If anyone was unable to move into their accommodation during the usual arrival period, they were not charged for their accommodation until after 31 October.<\/li>\n<li>The moving in period was spread over five days rather than two. Key collection points were also moved outdoors to marquees.<\/li>\n<li>The accommodation was deep cleaned before new students arrived and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/preview.bath.ac.uk\/guides\/cleaning-your-university-accommodation\/\">during their stay here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>We now only offer single room accommodation, shared rooms are no longer an option.<\/li>\n<li>All bedrooms now have a wash basin installed.<\/li>\n<li>Our accommodation teams are operating in cohorts, to help minimise risk.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Support in accommodation Despite the unusual circumstances in the last year, our team has been working around the clock to make sure our students are cared for and supported.
