{"id":575,"date":"2023-01-30T09:00:56","date_gmt":"2023-01-30T09:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/campus-services\/?p=575"},"modified":"2023-01-26T15:49:17","modified_gmt":"2023-01-26T15:49:17","slug":"feed-4-for-5-how-to-cook-mac-n-cheese","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/campus-services\/2023\/01\/30\/feed-4-for-5-how-to-cook-mac-n-cheese\/","title":{"rendered":"Feed 4 for \u00a35 - how to cook mac 'n' cheese"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Macaroni and cheese\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/791167305?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jar of white sauce<\/li>\n<li>Dried macaroni pasta<\/li>\n<li>Pot of fresh cream<\/li>\n<li>50g mature cheddar cheese<\/li>\n<li>Store cupboard <strong>\u2013 <\/strong>seasoning, mustard, and herbs\u202f(tarragon works well)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cook the macaroni pasta as per the manufacturer\u2019s instructions in boiling salted water<\/li>\n<li>Pre-heat the oven to 180 celcius<\/li>\n<li>Rinse in cold water to 'refresh' (rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process)<\/li>\n<li>Add the content of the white sauce jar and add the pot of cream to the pasta<\/li>\n<li>Mix all the ingredients together including half of the cheese<\/li>\n<li>Taste and adjust seasoning and add black pepper - adding now mean you will have more taste and use less salt<\/li>\n<li>Add herbs of your choice<\/li>\n<li>Add a teaspoon of mustard<\/li>\n<li>Place in an oven proof dish and sprinkle with the remaining cheese<\/li>\n<li>Oven bake in a preheated oven until golden and bubbling hot.<\/li>\n<li>This dish can be eaten as a main dish or a side to other meals. Feel free to adjust to your taste with added onions and garlic.
