So, you have started your final year of your degree? Apart from focusing on your academic skills, what can you do to improve your chances of landing that dream graduate job? Here is our careers check list for finalists.<\/p>\n

  1. If you are interested in applying for\u00a0graduate schemes<\/strong>, I am afraid you have no choice but to start looking and applying now. Many graduate schemes are open and deadlines are closing soon. Most schemes have deadlines in October or November. Check\u00a0MyFuture<\/a>\u00a0for both commercial and non-commercial schemes, or look at external sites such as Gradcracker or TargetJobs. Unsure how to get started?   2. Perhaps you worked over the summer or has just got back from a placement?\u00a0Get the CV work ready<\/strong>; read our\u00a0CV and Applications Guide<\/a>, attend one of our\u00a0skills development sessions<\/a>\u00a0or come to one of our\u00a0Application Advice appointments<\/a>. We have a great step to step guide here<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  3. Are you applying for graduate schemes but you have never before tried your hands on a\u00a0psychometric test<\/strong>? Well, we have free ones; from verbal and numerical reasoning tests to situation judgement tests, games and e-tray exercises.\u00a0Have a go for free here<\/a>. Check individual employer processes here<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  4. Get ahead in the application process by attending\u00a0employer recruitment events,<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0we have our amazing\u00a0careers fair<\/a>\u00a0in just a couple of weeks and we have tons of employer events this Autumn. Find out about different employers, different sectors and job roles and ask those employers your important questions.<\/li>\n
  5. Get involved!<\/strong>\u00a0It is still not too late to get involved in\u00a0societies<\/a>, volunteering<\/a>\u00a0and\/or get involved part-time jobs through SU.<\/a><\/li>\n
  6. Find yourself an\u00a0alumni mentor<\/strong>\u00a0through our wonderful alumni networking tool -\u00a0Bath Connection.<\/a><\/li>\n
  7. Are you unsure of what you want to do next and therefore don\u2019t know what to apply for?
