However we understand that disclosing your disability to an employer is a cause for concern for many of our students. It is worth knowing that if you\u00a0have a disability you are protected by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/rights-disabled-person\/employment\">Equality Act 2010<\/a> which states that employers must not treat an applicant less favorably because of their disability.\u00a0 The act also means that applicants can decide whether or not to disclose a disability on application for a job*.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/careers\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/82\/2015\/02\/dss_poster_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-214\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/careers\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/82\/2015\/02\/dss_poster_2-300x195.jpg\" alt=\"dss_poster_2\" width=\"212\" height=\"138\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/careers\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/82\/2015\/02\/dss_poster_2-300x195.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/careers\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/82\/2015\/02\/dss_poster_2.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 212px) 100vw, 212px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Careers Service is\u00a0hosting a webinar on <strong>Wednesday, 18th February<\/strong> \u00a0from <strong>1-1.45pm.<\/strong> \u00a0This session will provide an opportunity for participants to consider the pro\u2019s and con\u2019s of disclosing a disability to an employer. We will also discuss the different stages of the selection process and provide guidance on when to disclose. The session will conclude with tips and advice so you feel confident discussing your disability.
