Are you a fresher?<\/b><\/p>\n

Enjoy<\/b> your first few weeks at Bath. If you\u2019re going to the Freshers Week<\/a>, you\u2019ll probably find yourself signing up for\u00a0clubs and societies<\/a>,<\/b>\u00a0or other activities like\u00a0volunteering.<\/a> You may even run into SU part-time jobs.<\/a>\u00a0All of the above are great for your CV<\/b>, as potential employers look for students who can demonstrate their initiative, have strong communication and organisation skills (e.g. the ability to juggle coursework with extracurricular activities and jobs!), and have held some positions of responsibility during their time at University. It is never too early to think about your career!<\/p>\n

Make sure you\u00a0visit us<\/b>\u00a0in our wonderful University hub in the city centre,\u00a0the Virgil Building\u00a0<\/a>and be sure to explore MyFuture<\/a>\u00a0to be kept up to date on careers events, jobs, careers resources (webinars, links, recordings of events and careers appointments). Returning to second year?<\/b><\/p>\n

So, you\u2019re back after the long summer break, welcome back! Now\u2019s a really great time to be thinking about your career. Do you know what you want to do when you graduate? If not,\u00a0 have a look at our Get Started Career Options guide<\/a> and you could consider booking an appointment with one of our careers advisers to discuss your options, please do so through\u00a0MyFuture<\/a>.<\/b> In addition, we have lots of employers coming to campus for our Careers Fairs<\/a>, coming up w\/c 18th October and in the meantime we have lots of employer events and skills development workshops for you to attend, all bookable through MyFuture.<\/a><\/p>\n

Also, enjoy being back on campus<\/strong> and have a look at Freshers Week - take 2<\/a> and see what events and social activities you can get involved in. In addition, join a society, volunteer or consider a part-time job, above section for all the links.<\/p>\n

Are you a postgraduate student?<\/strong><\/p>\n

As with our freshers, as a postgraduate you may also find some\u00a0relevant societies for you<\/a> and there will be specific events for you during Freshers Week. <\/a>Spruce up your CV with relevant volunteering.<\/a> Or a part-time role<\/a>. There is also a Postgraduate Association (PGA)<\/a> which represents and supports the nearly 4000 research and taught postgraduates on campus. If you are a postgraduate taught student or final year student you may want to think about applying for graduate schemes already now, therefore explore our Search for Work guide<\/a> and attend one of our events on graduate job search. In addition, have a look at all the exciting events, including careers fairs,\u00a0 on offer on MyFuture.<\/a><\/p>\n
