The week ends with a\u00a0Family Science Day\u00a0which will take place in the center of town in Bath.<\/p>\n<p>The Careers team wanted to shine a spotlight on the wide range of opportunities that are open to Science grads both in and out of the lab. There are a variety of fascinating careers in science which combine analytical thinking with creativity. Whether you wish to solve the mysteries of the universe or want to work as a <a href=\"http:\/\/jobs.newscientist.com\/en-gb\/careers\/\">skeleton hunter<\/a>; there is something to suit all interests. \u00a0There are also plenty of vacancies. The current science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills shortage means 39% of UK companies are still struggling to fill these roles. Similarly, there is a shortfall of women in science, with <a href=\"http:\/\/sciencecampaign.org.uk\/CaSEDiversityinSTEMreport2014.pdf\">87% of STEM jobs<\/a> in the UK currently occupied by men.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">A useful starting point is to explore the wide range of \u00a0careers pursued by\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.5\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/students\/careers\/choose-a-career\/what-our-graduates-do\/\">University of Bath<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5\"> graduates.
