Hi,\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0Samiya Qureshi<\/a>, and recently I had the opportunity to intern with Bath Rugby Ladies<\/a>, an experience that turned out to be far more meaningful than I initially expected.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Going into the internship, I was excited but also slightly unsure of what my contribution would look like. Very quickly though, I realised this wasn\u2019t going to be a passive experience. I was trusted with real responsibility. During my time with the club, I designed social media content and promotional materials, created volunteer role templates, researched local community groups to support outreach, and drafted a volunteer policy to help structure future engagement. I also had the chance to write a testimonial reflecting on my experience, which is now featured on the club\u2019s website: something that felt like a full-circle moment.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What made this internship special was the sense of ownership I was given. I\u00a0wasn\u2019t\u00a0just completing tasks; I was thinking about how systems could improve, how communication could be clearer, and how the club could strengthen its connection with volunteers and the wider community. Being able to contribute ideas and see them implemented gave me a new level of confidence in my abilities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The experience strengthened so many transferable skills. I became more disciplined with managing my time and prioritising tasks, especially when balancing other commitments. I improved my written communication by drafting formal documents and creating content with a specific audience in mind. I also learned how important clarity, structure, and consistency are when building policies or designing outreach materials. Working independently pushed me to take initiative, problem-solve calmly, and trust my judgement.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Most importantly, this internship helped me see the bigger picture. Behind every successful sports team is organisation, planning, and community support. Being part of that process showed me how strategy and creativity work together in real-world settings. It reminded me that impact\u00a0doesn\u2019t\u00a0always happen in dramatic ways, sometimes it happens quietly, through thoughtful systems and consistent effort.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m\u00a0truly grateful\u00a0to the team at Bath Rugby Ladies for their support and encouragement. This experience has strengthened my confidence, expanded my skills, and given me a clearer sense of direction moving forward.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0an experience\u00a0I\u2019ll\u00a0carry with me long after the internship has ended.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
