A while ago my manager, Ed, set us a challenge \u2013 what\u2019s the most creative way you could use AI?\u00a0 I\u2019d been scratching my head on this one \u2013 using it to draft outline lesson plans is pretty basic.\u00a0 But this morning, as I realised it was my turn to write our departmental blog, and with my head full of our new Multiverse Digital Academy<\/strong><\/a> initiative<\/p>\n

I had a flash of inspiration.<\/p>\n

So<\/strong> I typed \u2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hello co-pilot I have to write a one-page blog for work.\u00a0 I work for University of Bath as a Learning and Organisational development consultant, writing for managers and leaders in the organisation.\u00a0 Our blogs are usually professional, slightly light-hearted and aim to provoke thought.\u00a0 We are looking to help our managers and leaders become more digitally aware and have noticed articles asking whether we should be polite to AI to get better results.\u00a0 The blog page is called \"changing, ourselves\".\u00a0 Can you write me a one-page blog that reflects all the above and brings in references to cold spring mornings, forthcoming brighter sunnier weather and poses some questions to help managers think about the possibilities of the digital world.\u00a0 The tone should be professional, friendly and interested<\/p>\n

Changing, Ourselves: Embracing Digital Awareness<\/strong><\/p>\n

As we step into the crisp, cold mornings of early spring, there's a palpable sense of anticipation in the air. The promise of brighter, sunnier days ahead mirrors the exciting possibilities that the digital world holds for us. At the University of Bath, we are committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and development, especially for our managers and leaders.<\/p>\n

In recent times, there's been a fascinating discussion around the idea of being polite to AI. Can a courteous approach to our digital assistants really yield better results? This question, while seemingly light-hearted, opens up a broader conversation about our relationship with technology.<\/p>\n

As leaders, it's crucial to consider how our interactions with AI and other digital tools can shape our work environment. Politeness, after all, is not just about manners; it's about creating a positive and productive atmosphere. When we extend this courtesy to AI, we are not just programming responses; we are setting a tone for how we engage with all forms of technology.<\/p>\n

Imagine starting your day with a friendly greeting to your digital assistant. This small act could set a positive tone for your interactions throughout the day. It\u2019s a reminder that our approach to technology can be as thoughtful and intentional as our approach to human interactions.<\/p>\n

As we look forward to the warmer, sunnier days of spring, let's also look forward to the opportunities that digital awareness brings. How can we leverage AI to enhance our productivity and creativity? What new skills do we need to develop to stay ahead in this digital age? And most importantly, how can we ensure that our use of technology aligns with our values and goals?<\/p>\n

These are the questions we should be asking ourselves as we navigate the ever-evolving digital landscape. By embracing digital awareness, we can not only improve our efficiency but also foster a more innovative and inclusive work environment.<\/p>\n

So, as you sip your morning coffee and feel the first hints of spring warmth, take a moment to reflect on your digital interactions. How can you make them more meaningful and effective? How can you lead by example in this digital age? The answers to these questions will help us all in changing, ourselves, for the better.<\/p>\n

Let's embrace the digital future with curiosity, respect, and a touch of politeness. After all, the way we interact with technology today will shape the world we live in tomorrow.<\/p>\n

My reflections ....<\/strong><\/p>\n

The interpretation of my request is quite literal and needs improving to \u00a0flow better and improve the quality of information and debate.\u00a0 Working with AI is like using a slow cooker, if you choose your ingredients with care, prep carefully and adjust to get the flavour right, the results improve over time and you\u2019ll reap the benefits.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m at beginning of my AI knowledge journey, learning how to get the best outcomes from this tool. \u00a0\u00a0And perhaps that efficiency will give me more time to enjoy the spring sunshine on a lunchtime walk.<\/p>\n
