However, when the course finished, I stood up among friends and peers, knowing my craft of teaching and myself better. What I thought would be potentially a waste of time, was an interesting experiential journey of honing my teaching style in a supportive environment."

Fulvio Pinto, who achieved HEA Fellowship (FHEA) through the Bath Course in November, said: “Attending the Bath Course gave me a different perspective of teaching and helped me a lot in my professional development. I had the opportunity to reflect on several new aspects of the learning process and on the fact that “teaching” is not limited to the hours of direct contact with the students but it is something more complex that requires a careful plan and has many different aspects, such as the design of the Learning Outcomes or the alignment between the content of the teaching activities and the assessment tasks. Reflecting on the different approaches to the learning process and analysing the different activities aimed towards the student engagement was very useful, especially when I had the opportunity to learn from other members of the academic staff. I was fascinated by the different teaching strategies adopted in other departments especially in terms of group activities and assessment typology aimed towards the development of teamwork and communications skills. I believe that this exchange of ideas and experiences can strongly help in the development of high quality teaching activities, taking the best out of different academic environments.”

Congratulations to the following colleagues who achieved HEA Fellowship (FHEA) through the Bath Course (conferred July 2018):

Dr Volkan Cevik, Department of Biology and Biochemistry

Dr Stephen Clark, Department of Physics

Ms Joanne Clarke, Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology

Ms Sandra Daroczi, Department of Politics, Languages and International Studies

Dr Rhiannon Edwards, Department of Psychology

Dr Ioannis Geogilas, Department of Mechanical Engineering

Dr Ivan Gololobov, Department of Politics, Languages and International Studies

Dr Stefanie Gustafsson, School of Management

Dr Kari Heine, Department of Mathematical Sciences

Dr Yufei Huang, School of Management

Dr Evripides Loukaides, Department of Mechanical Engineering

Dr Kang Ma, Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering

Dr Lee Moore, Department for Health

Dr Nelson Oppong, Department of Social and Policy Sciences

Dr Xiaoze Pei, Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering

Dr Rushil Ranchod, Department of Social and Policy Sciences

Dr Paulo Rocha, Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering

Dr Abby Tabor, Department for Health

Dr Vuokko Wallace, Department of Psychology

Mrs Victoria Willis, School of Management

Congratulations to the following colleagues who achieved HEA Associate Fellowship (AFHEA) through the Bath Course (conferred July 2018):

Mr John Benardis, Dept of Computer Science

Ms Christina Keating, Dept of Computer Science

Mrs Valeria Symonds, Dept for Health

Dr Freddy Symons, Dept of Mathematical Sciences

Ms Rachel Los, Academic Skills

Congratulations to the following colleagues who achieved HEA Fellowship (FHEA) through the Bath Course (conferred November 2018):

Dr Antoine Buchard, Dept of Chemistry

Dr Sarah Chapman, Dept of Pharmacy and Pharmacology

Dr Ioannis Costas Batlle, Dept of Education

Dr Daniela Defazio, School of Management

Dr Tiago De Paula Peixoto, Dept of Mathematical Sciences

Dr Sophia Hatzisavvidou, Dept of Politics, Languages &
