He frequently gives keynotes on how social media can be used for learning and engagement and has an enviable social media presence. He is a keen proponent for teaching students about digital identity development.<\/p>\n<p>This is the second in the Talk Teaching series launched recently to offer analysis and wider debate about current issues in higher education learning and teaching. The first talk featured The Guardian\u2019s Rachel Hall in conversation with Computer Science\u2019s Dr Neill Campbell and Andy Pitchford, Head of Learning and Teaching.<\/p>\n<p>In his talk, Eric will look beyond the \u2018technology hype\u2019 to bring a holistic, student-centric appreciation of education to the debate about how higher education can embrace the opportunities offered by technology and social media.
