Following the (Westminster) government\u2019s announcement of the lifting of legal restrictions in England, the Department for Education published updated Covid-19 operational guidance<\/a> this week for the higher education sector. Wonkhe has an analysis<\/a> of the changes.<\/p>\n

Augar response<\/strong><\/p>\n

THE reports<\/a> on Westminster\u2019s government unveiling of major changes to student finance. These changes were announced as part of the government\u2019s wider\u00a0response to the Augar review of post-18 education<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As part of the launch of the Government's response to the post-18 review into higher education, Minister Donelan delivered a speech<\/a> at the Centre for Policy Studies.<\/p>\n

Regulatory and governance<\/strong><\/p>\n

The QAA reports<\/a> that a survey linked to the review of external examination practice received responses from 44 higher education institutions, and over 170 individuals engaged with one of four roundtable discussion events held across December 2021 and January 2022.<\/p>\n

Pensions<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Universities Superannuation Scheme<\/a> (USS) Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) voted to proceed with Universities UK's (UUK) proposed package of reforms to conclude the 2020 valuation of the scheme.<\/p>\n
