Starting a new job is always nerve-wracking, but now <\/span>I\u2019ve<\/span> been a Content Designer for just over a month <\/span>I\u2019m<\/span> so pleased that I made the jump to join the Digital Content team.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Getting settled in<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

After working in museum marketing for almost ten years, one of the hardest things about leaving my previous job was saying goodbye to my team. However, since joining the University earlier this year, the Digital Content and Development teams have made me feel so welcome. They\u2019re very supportive, knowledgeable about their work, share snacks and treats, and make me laugh a lot. I like the fact that we have a team meeting every morning which is an opportunity to check in with each other and keep up to date on what everyone is working on. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

An introduction to higher education<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

I\u2019ve never worked in higher education before, so my induction included tasks like staff training, understanding the University\u2019s different departments and faculties, researching our competitors nationally and internationally, and perhaps most importantly, familiarising myself with the University of Bath website and our Content Management System (CMS), Typecase. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are lots of acronyms to learn when you work in a university, so I\u2019m starting to memorise what they all mean. Although I\u2019m finding there are still new ones to learn each week!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What I\u2019ve been working on so far<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

After I made my way through my induction tasks, I was excited to start getting stuck into some \u2018proper work\u2019. Here\u2019s a list of some of the work I\u2019ve completed so far:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
