New Office 365 app is a delight for the senses

Since its rollout to the University community of 18 March 2019, the interest in Office 365 has grown rapidly, with many people wanting to Collaborate. Share. Achieve. more effectively. Creating greater working relationships for staff and students is at the heart of the Office 365 project.

We are now delighted to announce that there is a brand-new app for the Office 365 suite, launching on Monday 1 April.

Smell My Screen offers the ultimate interactive experience between colleagues both internal and external to the University.  Ever wanted to share the tantalising smell of real coffee with your project partner? Simply open the app, take a photo of your coffee, upload it and your colleague will be able to enjoy the heady scent with just one tap of their screen.

The app works with a range of scents, so whether you want to share that fish curry you had for lunch, the delicate aroma of petrol fumes from the bus station or indeed complain about a blocked drain in one of the toilets, this app offers you a way to really share that experience, giving your project group that authentic collaboration experience.

As always, our IT Training team will be offering a range of Show & Tell sessions in support of the app. These have been re-branded, Show & Smell.  Our IT Trainers said, ‘Feel free to bring some of your favourite scents along with you. Particularly welcome is the smell of wet dog fur and overly chlorinated swimming pool.’

Smell My Screen works on all devices including phones, tablets and Etch A Sketch.
