The city of Bath, it seems, has a new phenomenon: knitting snoods for chickens.<\/p>\n
I am told that, such is the concern for those birds newly-freed from the thankfully now-outlawed battery cages, and adopted by caring folk with back yards, that at least one knitting circle meets in a pub to produce appropriate garments for hens denuded of neck feathers from their time in the shockingly small cages. \u00a0 My informant did not reveal whether or not the yarn (which I trust was wool) was recycled (but I hope it is). \u00a0Snoods for animals is not a new idea, of course, and a quick trawl of the web reveals stylish designs<\/a> that are much more colourful than my own very black, black affair from which I fear I am becoming inseparable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The city of Bath, it seems, has a new phenomenon: knitting snoods for chickens.
