{"id":5141,"date":"2013-12-02T08:37:04","date_gmt":"2013-12-02T08:37:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/?p=5141"},"modified":"2013-12-02T08:37:04","modified_gmt":"2013-12-02T08:37:04","slug":"sdrn-conference-see-you-there","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/2013\/12\/02\/sdrn-conference-see-you-there\/","title":{"rendered":"SDRN conference \u2013 see you there?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The SDRN\u2019s Annual Conference: <em><strong>Sustainable development in the UK in 2020<\/strong><\/em> is to take place on Tuesday, 28th January at the BIS Conference Centre in London.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sd-research.org.uk\/latest\/sdrn-annual-conference\">SDRN<\/a> says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000080\">The UK has committed to a range of nationally and internationally-set sustainable development goals. These include the Millennium Development Goals due to end in 2015, the new Europe 2020 goals following on from the Lisbon Strategy and a number of sustainability targets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\">This year\u2019s Sustainable Development Research Network conference will look at the progress and challenges of meeting some of these goals and achieving sustainable development in relation to a number of key areas, including: evidence, tools and policy evaluation; economic growth; policy-making and engaging the public; natural capital; and renewable energy.\u00a0 The conference will consider: if we are on track;<em> <\/em>whether we have the rights tools, research programmes, policies and approaches to help get us there; what the barriers to success are and what can be done to help overcome them?<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I\u2019ll be going, as it looks an informative day with authoritative speakers, and also to see if anyone mentions education.\u00a0 Judging by the speakers, this seems unlikely. \u00a0See you there?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The SDRN\u2019s Annual Conference: Sustainable development in the UK in 2020 is to take place on Tuesday, 28th January at the BIS Conference Centre in London.
