{"id":6095,"date":"2014-09-02T07:16:23","date_gmt":"2014-09-02T07:16:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/?p=6095"},"modified":"2014-09-02T07:16:23","modified_gmt":"2014-09-02T07:16:23","slug":"ecer-ing-in-porto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/2014\/09\/02\/ecer-ing-in-porto\/","title":{"rendered":"ECER-ing in Porto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eera-ecer.de\/ecer2014\/\">ECER<\/a> conference in Porto \u2013 my last. \u00a0This is the first full meeting of the new Network 30 \u2013 environmental and sustainability education research, which has been guided into existence by the commendable Per Sund.<\/p>\n<p>The network is full to bursting, so much so that there have to be parallel sessions to allow everybody to have their day \u2013 that was supposed to be 'say', but ... . \u00a0All good evidence, you might think, of pent-up demand and a network whose time has come. \u00a0 I think that this may well be the case, though we should wait for the next conference, in Budapest (2015), before really thinking it so. \u00a0It is possible that many attending the network may well be regular ECER-goers who, up to now, have had to squeeze their interests into other networks. \u00a0If so, then a consequence of Network 30 might be some loss of diffusion, and hence influence on other disciplines which would be a pity, as it is always good to talk to others as well as ourselves. \u00a0It is reassuring, therefore, to see some joint network sessions surviving in the programme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am at the ECER conference in Porto \u2013 my last. \u00a0This is the first full meeting of the new Network 30 \u2013 environmental and sustainability education research, which has been guided into existence by the commendable Per Sund.
