{"id":6157,"date":"2014-11-12T10:02:55","date_gmt":"2014-11-12T10:02:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/?p=6157"},"modified":"2014-11-12T11:22:31","modified_gmt":"2014-11-12T11:22:31","slug":"aichi-nagoya-7-the-future-weve-all-been-waiting-for","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/2014\/11\/12\/aichi-nagoya-7-the-future-weve-all-been-waiting-for\/","title":{"rendered":"Aichi-Nagoya 6 \u2013 The Future we've all been waiting for"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Shaping the Future We We Want, the\u00a0<\/em>UN DESD Final Report is <a href=\"http:\/\/unesdoc.unesco.org\/images\/0023\/002301\/230171e.pdf\">here<\/a>. \u00a0The report says:<\/p>\n<p>\"A solid foundation has been laid for ESD at the end of the DESD, achieved by raising awareness, influencing policies and generating significant numbers of good practice projects in all areas of education and learning.\"<\/p>\n<p>By happy coincidence, at the end of 10 years of work, \"10 key findings and trends have emerged\" that will guide ESD into the future:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ESD, an enabler for sustainable development<\/em> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>1. Education systems are addressing sustainability issues<\/p>\n<p>2. Sustainable development agendas and education agendas are converging<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em><strong>Importance of stakeholder engagement for ESD \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>3. Political leadership has proven instrumental<\/p>\n<p>4. Multi-stakeholder partnerships are particularly effective<\/p>\n<p>5. Local commitments are growing<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em><strong>ESD is galvanizing pedagogical innovation<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>6. Whole-institution approaches help practise ESD<\/p>\n<p>7. ESD facilitates interactive, learner-driven pedagogies<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em><strong>ESD has spread across all levels and areas of education<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>8. ESD is being integrated into formal education<\/p>\n<p>9. Non-formal and informal ESD is increasing<\/p>\n<p>10.
