{"id":621,"date":"2011-06-05T10:15:59","date_gmt":"2011-06-05T09:15:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/?p=621"},"modified":"2011-06-05T10:15:59","modified_gmt":"2011-06-05T09:15:59","slug":"welcome-clarification-from-the-tda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/2011\/06\/05\/welcome-clarification-from-the-tda\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome clarification from the TDA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In my readings around <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/wp-admin\/post.php?action=edit&amp;post=610\">UNECE\u2019s<\/a> latest edicts around the teacher competencies that will be needed if they (teachers, that is) are to save the planet, I thought it best to reacquaint myself with what the Teaching Development Agency (TDA for schools) says about all this \u2013 after all, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tda.gov.uk\/\">TDA<\/a> is the guardian of the nation\u2019s (England\u2019s, that is) career-spanning teacher professional standards, and whatever UNECE\u2019s dreams are for English teachers and ESD, they will need to be grafted onto (not entirely sure that\u2019s the best metaphor here, as it does seem rather horticultural) what the TDA already thinks is important.<\/p>\n<p>Well, good luck with this, as the TDA has never taken learning and sustainability seriously.\u00a0 However, whilst <em><strong>TDA meets UNECE<\/strong><\/em><strong> <\/strong>might not have the same immediate appeal as\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/life-style\/health-and-families\/health-news\/tiger-mum-v-mumsnet-the-mother-of-all-battles-2293180.html\">Mumsnet v.
