{"id":6417,"date":"2015-08-13T07:09:48","date_gmt":"2015-08-13T07:09:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/?p=6417"},"modified":"2015-08-13T07:09:48","modified_gmt":"2015-08-13T07:09:48","slug":"anyone-for-eyd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/2015\/08\/13\/anyone-for-eyd\/","title":{"rendered":"Anyone for EYD?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Did you know it was the EYD?<\/p>\n<p>I didn't either. \u00a0I still didn't, when someone explained that EYD stood for the E<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eesc.europa.eu\/?i=portal.en.rex-opinions.29673\">uropean Year of Development<\/a>. \u00a0This, it seems, is an EU gambit that's setting out\u00a0to increase our understanding of the \"progress that has been made in international development\", and to inspire citizens to \"join the conversation\". \u00a0Dear me!<\/p>\n<p>I'm grateful (as ever) to <a href=\"http:\/\/think-global.org.uk\">Think Global<\/a> for this news. \u00a0TG says it has been \"working with Bond\" (whether Brooke, Basildon or James it doesn't\u00a0say) to ensure that the EYD is communicated with (sic) schools and teachers. \u00a0TG\u00a0is developing\u00a0a teaching resource that\u00a0will set out\u00a0the positive development stories behind the photos featured in its 2015\/16\u00a0wallplanner, with ideas on how teachers can use these in the classroom. \u00a0In\u00a0the autumn, it\u00a0will be running online training on positive development stories for the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>I'm tempted to ask who's working on the negative\u00a0development stories\u00a0(for requisite balance, you know). \u00a0But, I guess that's the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Did you know it was the EYD?
