{"id":6616,"date":"2016-03-15T07:19:51","date_gmt":"2016-03-15T07:19:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/?p=6616"},"modified":"2016-03-15T07:19:51","modified_gmt":"2016-03-15T07:19:51","slug":"responses-to-the-latest-nus-survey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/2016\/03\/15\/responses-to-the-latest-nus-survey\/","title":{"rendered":"Responses to the latest NUS survey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This year\u2019s sustainability skills survey\u00a0by the NUS has resulted in\u00a0over 9000 responses from higher and further education institutions, and from sixth-form Colleges.<\/p>\n<p>The results will be available shortly, following data\u00a0analysis; meanwhile, the pattern of responses has thrown up useful comparative data. \u00a0Here are a few examples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There were responses from 354 institutions<\/li>\n<li>The number of responses per institution ranges\u00a0from 958 to 1<\/li>\n<li>The mode of responses is\u00a01 per institution<\/li>\n<li>The median is 3 responses<\/li>\n<li>4 institutions saw\u00a0over 600 responses each; all were universities<\/li>\n<li>6 institutions had\u00a0between 200 and 599 responses each; one of these was an FE college which came 6th overall.<\/li>\n<li>10 institutions provided\u00a0between 100 and 199 responses each; two were FE colleges and one was a sixth-form college, which came 20th, overall, ahead of a large number of universities.<\/li>\n<li>16 institutions provided between 50 and 99 responses each; again, two were FE colleges and one was a sixth-form college, which came 26th, overall, once again ahead of a large number of universities, some of which have\u00a0something of \"a name\" for sustainability-focused work.<\/li>\n<li>25 institutions provided between 20 and 49 responses each; six\u00a0were FE colleges<\/li>\n<li>As the number of responses per institution falls, the proportion that are colleges and sixth-form colleges increases; that said, 11 universities provided only 2 responses each, and 12\u00a0universities provided only one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I'll let others comment on these, and any other data available. \u00a0However, I do wonder, will this extension of responses into colleges and, particularly, sixth-forms \u2013 which some may see as a democratisation of involvement \u2013 will have any impact on the outcome.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This year\u2019s sustainability skills survey\u00a0by the NUS has resulted in\u00a0over 9000 responses from higher and further education institutions, and from sixth-form Colleges.
