{"id":6793,"date":"2016-10-14T06:21:09","date_gmt":"2016-10-14T06:21:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/?p=6793"},"modified":"2016-10-14T06:21:09","modified_gmt":"2016-10-14T06:21:09","slug":"frack-off-from-wiltshire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/2016\/10\/14\/frack-off-from-wiltshire\/","title":{"rendered":"Frack off from Wiltshire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I'm told that the companies that had expressed an interest in drilling for oil \/ gas \/ whatever in the part of Wiltshire where I live, have decided not to take up the opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>This might be seen as a triumph for <em>Keep Wiltshire\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/frack-off.org.uk\/local-group\/kwiff-keep-wiltshire-frack-free\/\">Frack-free<\/a><\/em>,\u00a0an \"umbrella group, uniting many local groups\", although their website is keeping quiet if it is. \u00a0Others see it as a triumph for common business sense \u2013 if the likelihood of finding\u00a0gas \/ oil \/ whatever there is very low, there's no point spending money trying to find it.<\/p>\n<p>Actually, though, it's a triumph for geology, as there simply was no oil \/ gas \/ whatever there. \u00a0More geology taught in schools, I say.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I'm told that the companies that had expressed an interest in drilling for oil \/ gas \/ whatever in the part of Wiltshire where I live, have decided not to take up the opportunity.
