{"id":7067,"date":"2017-10-13T05:12:39","date_gmt":"2017-10-13T05:12:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/?p=7067"},"modified":"2017-10-13T05:12:39","modified_gmt":"2017-10-13T05:12:39","slug":"another-unesco-esd-prize-for-the-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/2017\/10\/13\/another-unesco-esd-prize-for-the-uk\/","title":{"rendered":"Another UNESCO ESD prize for the UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EAUC reported last week that the\u00a0UK-based <em>Hard Rain Project<\/em> has been selected as one of the three winners of the international UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) 2017. \u00a0Thus, hot on the heels of the award of the same prize to NUS last year, the UK, it seems, does it again.<\/p>\n<p>EAUC (quoting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unesco.org.uk\/news\/uk-based-hard-rain-project-wins-prestigious-international-sustainable-development-award\/\">UNESCO<\/a>) said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The\u00a0Hard Rain Project\u00a0was selected for its international programme \u201cHard Rain\u201d and its follow-up \u201cWhole Earth?\u201d, which bring art, science and education together to raise awareness on pressing global issues such as poverty and climate change, and to stimulate thinking and action towards more positive futures. \u00a0It works with world-renowned artists, scientists and communicators to carry its message to schools and universities, and to a wider public, through exhibitions, books, films, talks and events.<\/p>\n<p>It is estimated that 15 million people have seen Hard Rain and Whole Earth? exhibitions in Europe, the US, Africa and Asia and attended talks and associated events.
