Today's NAEE news round up<\/a> reported on the\u00a0Global Environmental Education Partnership's\u00a0latest activities, including that\u00a0GEEP<\/a>\u00a0has created a pledge for reinvigorating Environmental Education in the light of the sustainability challenges we face. \u00a0And we're asked to ACT NOW FOR EE<\/a> and\u00a0work toward three goals:<\/p>\n

  1. Every nation has an environmentally informed, empowered, and active populace and\u00a0<\/em>workforce.<\/em><\/li>\n
  2. The leadership of every government, business, NGO, and educational institution uses<\/em>\u00a0environmental education to achieve environmentally sustainable outcomes.<\/em><\/li>\n
  3. Every educational institution incorporates environmental literacy into its mission, goals,\u00a0<\/em>and activities.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    There's a\u00a0pledge letter<\/a>\u00a0and we're asked to\u00a0sign it to show we're endorsing the goals and committing to their achievement. \u00a0The website highlights\u00a010<\/a>\u00a0areas for action. GEEP says it will provide resources and support, including campaigns and activities, to help inspire action. \u00a0I've done so.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    I am part-time member of GEEP, and made a vanishingly small contribution to all this.<\/p>\n

    It has been good to see the GEEP idea emerging and developing, and if you look at\u00a0ACT NOW FOR EE<\/a> you can see strong arguments to show how environmental education has an important role to play in the struggle to address the myriad problems we face. \u00a0There's a meeting of GEEP in the USA this week where the work will develop further. \u00a0More on this later on ...<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
