(2017). Reviewing climate change education research: A systematic review of empirical studies on school-based climate change education. <em>Environmental Education Research<\/em>, 23(7), 981-1001.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sounds quite an interesting paper; a pity no one has written it. \u00a0But Annette and I were not alone in suffering a fake citation; far from it it seems with 20 such papers being cited in recent submissions. \u00a0Journal editing just got even harder.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mind you, if you\u2019re going to make up EER papers, you\u2019d best not send what you\u2019re writing to EER as the editor is hawk-eyed. \u00a0Some people \u2013 assuming it was a real person \u2013 really are idiots.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">As for me, well it seems that my work was significant enough to be faked.\u00a0 As Mae West said, it\u2019s always much better to be looked over than overlooked.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Something happened the other week which makes me think I may have come of age. \u00a0EER received a paper with a made-up citation which claimed that Annette Gough and I had published this: Gough, A., &amp; Scott, W.
