{"id":8412,"date":"2023-09-21T07:28:02","date_gmt":"2023-09-21T07:28:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/?p=8412"},"modified":"2023-09-21T07:28:02","modified_gmt":"2023-09-21T07:28:02","slug":"my-responsive-mp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/edswahs\/2023\/09\/21\/my-responsive-mp\/","title":{"rendered":"My responsive MP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reading in The Times that \u201cministers \u2026 have agreed to work on a government-backed scheme to convert domestic oil-fired boilers to run on green fuels\u201d, did not fill me with much confidence, especially as new oil boilers were due to be cancelled with indecent haste (2026).<\/p>\n<p>I thought: What fuels? How 'green'? \u00a0And how can these \u2013 whatever they are \u2013 be available at scale by 2026? \u00a0This did not sound like a plan, and I thought that, yet again, the government is confusing ideas, targets and plans. \u00a0However, it seems that the government is encouraging industry to bring 'greener' (that is not from fossil fuels) products to market. \u00a0That does sound like a good thing even if it's not yet a fully worked out plan.
