Unabated \u2013 as in: \"The UK position is clear \u2013 there must be a phase out of unabated fossil fuel [extraction and use] to meet our climate goal.\"<\/p>\n
This is clear if a bit arcane as unabated fossil fuel use is consistent with net zero goals which we've all (mostly) signed up to.<\/p>\n
But it's not what the purist activists want. \u00a0Their preference is also clear \u2013 a complete phase out of fossil fuels extraction and use. \u00a0This is their goal no matter what immiseration it might cause.<\/p>\n
I'm with the UK government (for once). \u00a0Who are the Saudis with?<\/p>\n

Wednesday morning brings a new draft<\/a> and this in #28 of the Mitigation<\/em> section of the text (my emphasis):<\/p>\n 28.
